Welcome to Hanna's Orphanage

Hanna's Orphanage is a charity set up to help vulnerable children in Ethiopia, by supporting the maintenance, improvement and expansion of an orphanage for 300 children run by Hanna Teshome.

Our aim is to improve the orphanage for the children who live there and to develop it to become a centre for the local community.

We are a very tiny charity set up by a group of people who really wanted to do something to help. We are all volunteers, so 100% of the money donated goes to the orphanage - there are no wages to pay or trips to finance! We raise money for the orphanage through a multitude of ways, the proceeds going towards expanding the orphanage facilities, for example stocking the library, buying clothes for the children or even a big project like rebuilding a kitchen.

We are guided by the wishes and needs of the orphanage and believe they are the ones who know best how we can help them. See what we've already done. We always welcome help, whether that's a donation, some books, or your time and energy!
